Good Morning! I got an early start this morning. It is the second half of my two day drive to Glacier National Park. Not much more of Washington to drive through. Just had to hop onto Hwy 90 and head east through Spokane and I’m pretty much in Idaho then.

I was really looking forward to driving through Idaho. Until today I had never been in Idaho. Although I was only in Idaho for less than 50 miles or so, I was blown away by the scenery. There is a town just called Coeur d’Alene. It is right next to a beautiful lake with the same name. The Mountains with the steep grades and the trees everywhere were just picturesque! I may have to go back there to check it out it was so pretty.
The rest of the 5 hour drive was also very pretty

I finally arrived at the little town of West Glacier located just outside of the park entrance. It is very clean and very commercial!

This is the Apgar Village that is attached to the campground I am staying in.

I went to the visitors center and got my suggested places to go all lined up in my head. This afternoon I drove over to “Two Medicine”. This area is close to East Glacier. The East Glacier area was where all the tourists originally went to before the Road to the Sun was started and then finally completed 20 years later in 1932. The drive to this area took about an hour and was filled with beautiful vistas. There are two Lakes in the area and also several waterfalls.

This is the lake that Apgar Village was built next to. I went to a Rangers talk this evening. This one happened to be about “Wild Flowers”. On my way back to my camp, I ran into this young lady.

I will be cutting this post short. It’s been a long day and I will have a busy day tomorrow driving “The Road to the Sun”
