I had a nice long drive yesterday through the High Desert of Texas and New Mexico.
It was very windy as I climbed up in elevation. The terrain is so different from home.
The state of New Mexico first started referring to itself as The Land of Enchantment back in 1906! Someone used the phrase in a pamphlet designed to increase tourism to the state. New Mexico first put the slogan on their license plates in the 1950’s. It didn’t become the official slogan of the state until 1999.

I made it to my campground late in the afternoon and got set up.
I went to dinner with two sisters I met in Utah last year, Katie and Anne.

Did I mention how windy it was in Albuquerque? It stayed that windy until after midnight!
The plan for today is to drive to Flagstaff, AZ. Along the way I will be stopping in Winslow, AZ to have lunch with my nephew Brandon. It’s going to be a great day! It’s nowhere near as windy this morning.
