Today started early. I got up and back on the road before 7:00am. I drove from Hickory North Carolina and arrived at Mammoth Cave National Park this afternoon.
I was able to spend a couple of days with some of my classmates from Plantation High school who graciously invited me into their home.
Bob and Nancy Moore were my hosts and introduced me Hickory, NC. They have a beautiful home on Hickory Lake.
Bob and Nancy took me for a nice tour of the lake. It is a beautiful setting with some very impressive homes on it. We were able reminisce about our school time together 50 plus years ago!
Last night we had a lovely night out with Susan Hmielewski Karcher and her husband Guy. Nancy’s best friend Cori Thompson also joined us.
I also got to catch the second half of the local high school football game. The local boys looked impressive while on their way to a 53 – 0 second round playoff game. It was a very fun evening with old friends while making some new ones!
I will be underground tomorrow taking a four hour long cave tour! I’ll update you on the cave tomorrow!
