Sunday _ August 20th Part Two (Arches National Park)

When I finished Posting yesterday about Canyonlands NP it was about 4:30PM. I was down at the Arches Visitor Center, since this seems to be the best place to get a cell signal. I decided to see how much of Arches I could see before it got dark.

Like all the National Parks I have been able to visit, Arches has its own unique story to tell.

Arches became a National memorial site in 1929. This was done in order to protect the area. Only a president can declare someplace a National Memeorial, Historic Site, Battlefield, Ect., Ect., Ect. Only the US Senate can vote to declare something a National Park. This happened To Arches in 1971.

Arches has over 2000 identified Arches in the park. I started at the Visitors center and headed to the farthest point on the park Roadโ€ฆ..THE CAMPGROUND.

By the time I got back to my camp site it was 8:30pm! I made myself some dinner and went to bed.

Iโ€™m heading into town to get some gas and then to Capitol Reef National Park.
