Tom's National Park Adventure

Good Morning. I have just had breakfast with all five of my kids and their spouses! Such a rare treat!

Yesterday I did my laundry, had breakfast at a local restaurant and visited with Janine and Larry, Diane’s sister and brother in law. They are staying in the metal building that they lived in while building their former home. The current owner lets them stay there whenever they come back to town! Nice guy!

From there I drove to Rapid City and picked up Logan and his bride Alex. We drove back to Custer and found the AirBnB all the kids are staying in while they are here.

Shannon, Liza, Alex, Leine and Nick all drove up from Denver. They got here around 6:30pm. Janine and Larry came by with their puppy “Ozzie”.

Kalen didn’t get to the house until 10:30pm. I had already retreated to my campsite long before.

Today we will be going to see Mount Rushmore, I think. It’s slow going at the moment.

Diane’s bother Gary and his bride Bernice will be touring the Badlands National Park today. They should be getting to Custer late this afternoon.

The kids are making dinner for everyone this evening at “The Lodge”
